Blackjack, also known as 21, is a card game that typically involves comparing multiple players to a dealer. Each player competes against the dealer, but the players do not play against each other. It is played with one or more decks of 52 cards and is the most widely played casino banking game in the world.

Black Jack's forerunner was 21, a game of unknown origin. The first written mention can be found in a book by the Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes, who is best known for writing Don Quixote. Cervantes was a gambler himself and the main characters in his story "Rinconete y Cortadillo" from Novelas Ejemplares are a couple of scammers working in Seville. You have mastered cheating at Veintiuna (Spanish for 21), stating that the object of the game is to get 21 points without going over and that the ace is 1 or 11.	At a casino blackjack table, the dealer has five to seven playing positions behind a semicircular table. Between one and eight standard decks of 52 cards are shuffled. At the beginning of each round, up to three players can place their bets in the "betting box" at any position in the game. That is, there could be up to three players in any position at a table in jurisdictions that allow back bets. It is assumed that the player whose bet is ahead in the field is in control of the position and the dealer will consult the controlling player about game decisions regarding the hand.
